This project was initiated by Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn. Bhd. (LITRAK), which involves the construction of the pedestrian bridge crossing LDP at KM 15.6, SS8, Petaling Jaya. The bridge span is 42.8m across the highway, and is located 5.5m above ground.
The bridge is shop fabricated into sections, where the main bridge corridor and staircase consists of three and two sections respectively. All sections are subsequently fitted and welded at site prior to installation.
As LDP is one of the most congested highways in Klang Valley, traffic management was a crucial part of the project. Interruption to vehicle flow had to be reduced to a minimum, while road users safety could not be compromised at all times. Nevertheless, the project was completed within a short time frame of two months. |
